Anastasia Bogatova, a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Humanities (group PKI-16-1) spent 10 days at the Summer cultural school in Xi'an (China). 74 students from India, USA, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Congo, Fiji, Cameroon, Russia, Ukraine, and Spain became participants of this event.
Participants of the Summer school got to know culture and traditions of China, visited the main sights of the city: for instance, the city wall - the legacy of the Ming dynasty era.
Anastasia Bogatova shares her impressions about her participation in the Summer cultural school in Xi'an:
“Of course, Summer school it is, first of all, friendship of peoples and opportunity to visit 30 different countries through meeting people from there. And you know that wherever you come, you will be welcomed there. Here everyone shares specificities of his country, teaches others new phrases and words.
The School helps a lot to overcome the language barrier. Even a person with minimal knowledge of Chinese will speak here in this difficult, but incredibly interesting language. When foreigners ask about my profession, I proudly say that in future I’ll be a teacher of English and Chinese. Yes, there is still much to learn. Nevertheless, within two years Minin university has provided us with the necessary basis for us to be able to communicate in two languages freely.
Also, Summer school is an opportunity to meet extraordinary people who are always ready to help you, and whom it is incredibly interesting to spent time with. Thanks to this event, we saw even more than ordinary tourists. We saw a remote area under construction, visited a beautiful university in Xi'an, take a look at the secondary school for children, got an incredible charge of emotions in an extreme park and heard a famous Beijing opera. Our days were very rich on events and bright.
We all fell in love with Xi'an, set ourselves new goals and determined the route. I would lie to thank Minin university for this opportunity! And indeed, Minin university is the way to your success! ”.
