The first year students of the “Foreign Language (English) and Foreign Language (Chinese)” department Stella Akopyan, Karina Osipova and Arina Vasina are now training at the Xian University of Translation( China)
They shared their impressions with us:
The second week of our stay in Xian is coming to an end. Thanks to Minin University we had a remarkable opportunity to have an unforgettable trip to the center of China.
Xian is an ancient city (more than 3100 years old), the former capital of Celestial Empire. This city combines majestic ancient temples and modern skyscrapers. Having visited it once, you begin, you begin to believe in miracles.
At the moment we are exchange students at the Xian University of Translation. It is the largest and leading higher education institution of the city. Training is held completely in Chinese, such disciplines as speaking, listening, the Chinese culture, kung fu, calligraphy and others are included.
From the airport we were met by friendly volunteers and teachers, they helped us to get around the campus, helped to make ourselves comfortable in new environment. Nearly every day we hold meetings with students of the university where we can practice our language skills.
At the weekend we are going to visit the main attraction of Xian – the Terracotta army. This is the name of the burial of at least 8100 full-size terracotta statues of the Chinese soldiers and their horses at the mausoleum of the emperor Qin Shihuangdi. It is the real archeological memorial which remained from 210-290 BC.
Finally we would like to thank Minin University once again for an opportunity to travel, learn languages and study the cultures of the different countries.
